Hotel Polaris
Hotel Polaris
Horizon Glass fabricated and installed the window and curtain wall scope for Hotel Polaris, a nine-story, AAA Four Diamond resort hotel at the North Gate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and the centerpiece of the new TrueNorth Commons development. Designed by BLUR Workshop and built by GE Johnson / DPR, the 375-room hotel draws its sleek, modern-industrial character from the Academy’s mid-century-modern campus and aviation heritage—blending timeless international style with subtle aviation notes, capped by a ninth-floor rooftop bar overlooking the Rocky Mountains and Pikes Peak.
Horizon’s scope encompassed approximately 28,000 square feet of EFCO 900RW punched windows and 24,000 square feet of EFCO 5600PG curtain wall, delivering the high-performance glazing and floor-to-ceiling glass that bring the dramatic mountain landscape into the guest rooms, meeting levels, and public spaces. Completed in 2024, Hotel Polaris stands as the first and only public hotel at the Air Force Academy and a new hospitality landmark in the Pikes Peak region.
